Garden Inspiration
Summer Peak
I separated a few of the mass plantings to create smaller groups. This allowed me to see the garden as a whole, not specific plants.
Also, note that although pathways weave through this planting. you don’t see them as you approach it. This is four distinctive design blocks and geranium ‘Rozanne’ ties it all together.
THE PLANTS: Coneflower ‘White Swan’, Black-Eyed Susan, Globe Thistle, Bee Balm ‘Panorama Red’, Geranium ‘Rozanne’
The Mist Garden
This planting was my inspiration for a ‘Mist’ style of garden. These plants are tall enough to be structural but delicate enough to be see-through.
THE PLANTS: Verbena Bonariensis, Culvers Root Lavendula, Pale Purple Coneflower.
Classic Cottage.
The foxglove anchor this partially shaded garden. The Yarrow ‘Moonshine’ adds structure and I love the delicate colour the geum added.
The foxglove cut back will rebloom, and the yarrow will look fresher and brighter with a mid season trim as well.
THE PLANTS: Foxglove ‘Foxy’, Yarrow ‘Moonshine’, Geum ‘Mrs. Bradshaw’
The Blues
The allium rising above the lower plantings pulls the eye upwards, without obstructing the view across the garden.
THE PLANTS: Allium ‘Ambassador’, Catmint ‘Walker’s Low, 'Salvia ‘May Night’
